I made the mistake of watching the 3rd movie...which covered maybe 5 minutes worth of the book...I wont make that mistake again.

Fluer has a nude scene in another movie, thought I would throw that in

On topic though, I have read books 3,4,5, and 6 and have seen all the movies. I really liked this one, although non die hard fans may get a bit confused unless they have a pal translating a few things. I had two friends go with us that had no clue what HP even was lol. One I gave him a few synopsis and story line and the other I thought he knew what was goin on. Turns out after he was like "MAN THAT WAS CONFUSING!". I just asked him why? He responded "Ive never seen ANYTHING about Harry Potter at all!" He was just bored and figure he would come with all of us lol! My other friend enjoyed it and asked if he could borrow the movies and books 5 and 6

I went with my girlfriend and some friends. I spent almost an hour giving a synopsis of the 4th book, and then whispered explanations during the movie, since they left a lot of things unexplained.

I thought it was a decent movie, I was entertained while watching it, but now that I've had a chance to reflect on what happened in the book, I think that it is just too hard to make the HP series into good movies.

Er, spoilers below:

For those who read the book, did you notice that when Fred and George fight after attempting to enter themselves in the Tri-Wizard tournament, that it was completely different in the book? In the book it's just a big joke, everyone laughs at them, and then they start laughing at each other for how ridiculous they looked. Even Dumbledore is amused. The movie gave the wrong impression of that scene.

Also the Ball scene were everyone is just letting loose, I was kind of confused about that. Also they left out alot of exciting elements and you also get alot more sense of life and death in the book compared to the movies EXAMPLES SPOILERS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like in the second task when Harry finds ron, hermoine, cho, fluers sister at the bottom of the lake you are like OMG what is he going to do?! The movie did not give that same effect of these are Harrys friends and they could die. They also didnt explain how Moody/ Barty Crouch Jr helped out harry in the third even and had Krum under the Imperious Curse. Also where was the Sphinx!?

Also the whole ball mosh pit dance type scene was a bit, odd...

I dont know I still thought it was great, but like yourself I spent a good 45 minutes explaining things to my one friend while trying to play mario Kart ds with 5 other people, it was confusing to do both and be the host of the game. Most of the time the other guys were all staring at me haha
